nice vision, nice technique, very inpressive originality, and a huge impact!!! i love the way you did the shading black from one corner to light in the opisite corner. i love the way her mane and her tail flows, and the sun barley peeking over the purple mountains. i also love the grass and the contrast between the grass and the mountains by the colour! the nice blue in the sky, the multi colour shading, the uniqe brush strokes. honestley, i dont really see anything wrong with this piece! so, i give you a warm, hot, choclatey choclate chip cookie!
I like the contrast, and I'm fond of the whole sharp-highlights soft-shadows thing you've got going. I like the way the hair around her head is lit. I like the more vivid colours.
I suppose it's still a case of "the lighting isn't quite right" in the sense that, when you have the subject between the light and the camera, you really aren't going to see much light except on the rim, and even then only in certain situations. To understand what I mean by this, try the following:
Close one eye, and then look directly at a light bulb. Then, take your hand, and hold it up in front of you, a couple of feet from your face, so that it obscures the light. If you do it right, you'll notice your hand isn't lit up at all, except maybe a tiny bit around the edges. This is how rim lighting works.
You've lit up a lot of her mane and her ass, in spite of the fact that they wouldn't be very lit up at all.
Also, although I do like the vivid colours, they're still overly saturated.
